When Should You Seek a Speech Screening?
Early support creates easiest transformation. Review common milestones by age:
12 – 24 Months
- Fewer than 10 functional words by 18 months
- Does not point or wave goodbye consistently
- Does not respond to name or follow simple verbal cues ("Give cup")
2 – 4 Years
- Strangers understand less than 50% of child's speech
